EXTRA FANCY WILD RICE
One of the most sought after rice in the world, this rice varies from dark brown to black. When it cooks, it blooms a bit, exposing a little of the lighter grain inside. This seed is from aquatic grass which grows in lakes and riverbeds in north America and isn’t really a rice. It has a nice texture and nutty flavor that works well in a wide variety of dishes. This extra fancy rice is often served with game, but can be used in a variety of soups and salads as well. It goes well with mushrooms or diced apples and can even be used in rice pudding.
